FK-891: Up to 160 Amps Thanks to Active Air Cooling

Our innovation: active cooling! And precisely where the critical temperatures occur – inside the high-current spring contact pin.

Our high-current spring contact FK-891 has been developed with an optional internal air-cooling feature. When used without cooling, the spring contact pin already achieves a current-carrying capacity of 60 A. For a contact pin with a diameter of only 4.2 mm, this is a remarkable value. When air at a temperature of 20 °C flows through the interior for cooling, the current-carrying capacity of the FK-891 can be increased up to 160 A.

This makes the FK-891 suitable for applications with high thermal requirements.

Screw-In Series

In the Screw-In series, the FK-891 is integrated into a customer-specific assembly. The individual high-current spring contact pins are screwed into a contact block. Optionally, these assemblies can be equipped with a temperature sensor and an insulated contact pin, known as a sense contact. The maximum current load depends on the load cycle and the number of high-current spring contact pins used.

In addition, the design of the FK-891 allows the entire contact head, including the high-current spring contact, to be temperature-controlled. This enables the contact unit to carry even higher currents.

Perma-Flow Series

It is optionally possible to implement cooling within the cover. This ensures optimal airflow and cooling of the contact points between the plunger and the contact block. As a result, a reliable high-current contact is created for demanding test setups. The assemblies can also be equipped with a temperature sensor and insulated sense contact pins for four-wire measurement .
