FK-891 – IT'S MORE THAN JUST HOT AIR 💨

OUR FIRST HIGH-CURRENT CONTACT WITH ACTIVE AIR COOLING FOR UP TO 160 A!

You’re probably familiar with the following challenge: transferring as much current as possible—through components that are as small as possible.

This is now part of our everyday work in power electronics, which is why we’ve dedicated extensive research to how we can further increase the current density of our spring contacts.

Our Solution: Active Cooling!

Directly applied where the critical temperatures arise: inside the spring contact.

Since the spatial constraints in our customers' test applications are often fixed, we paid special attention to the size of our latest development. With a diameter of 4.2 mm, our FK-891 can already handle a current load of 60 amps without cooling.

True to the motto: "small but mighty," this is already an impressive performance—but it doesn’t stop there:

When air at 20°C flows through the interior for cooling, we can increase the FK-891's current load capacity to 160 amps.

This is particularly useful in the field of battery testing for electromobility. The contact surfaces are usually only a few square centimeters in size, but several hundred amps need to be transferred. By using multiple FK-891 contacts within a test head, this can be achieved effectively. The air cooling can then be implemented through a central air distributor in the test head.
